The Keller Fall Where the City Writes the Calendar and Old Town Is Still Filling In

October 8, 2026

Saturday, October 3, puts two Keller events on one date with almost nothing in common. The Fall Craft Show and Market runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. inside the Keller Senior Activities Center on Johnson Road, free, rain or shine. The same day, the Community Storehouse Run in the Dark, a 1-mile fun run and 5K with a Fall Market, takes place at Keller Town Hall. One is organized by the city. The other is organized by a nonprofit whose proceeds go to supporting local families in need.

That pairing sets the pattern for the season. Keller's fall calendar leans on the city and its nonprofit partners, and it has dates on it already. The restaurant side of a Keller weekend is still being built, with one Old Town opening reaching its full menu on October 20 and a steakhouse aimed at summer 2027. Planning October around that difference gets you more out of it than treating the two halves as equals.

One Road Carries the Public Calendar

Look at the addresses. Keller Town Hall sits at 1100 Bear Creek Parkway, and so does The Parks at Town Center, a 102-acre park on the city's own parks list. Bear Creek Park, at 400 Bear Creek Parkway, covers 44 acres and hosts the Saturday Keller Farmers Market. Several of the events the city stages this fall land on that one road.

The Town Hall art show is the quiet example. Keller's public arts program has an exhibit on display at Town Hall from October 5 through November 19, with an artist reception on Thursday, October 15, at 6:30 p.m. Add the Run in the Dark on October 3, and Town Hall hosts both a race and a gallery opening within the same few weeks.

The park events add to it. Keller Parks and Recreation lists Haunted Camp Out at Bear Creek Park, where families bring their own tent and the program includes s'mores, a costume contest, a tent decorating contest and tent-to-tent trick-or-treating. It also lists Flannel Fest, which the city describes as a new fall festival built around the hashtag #FlauntYourFlannel, with details still to come. Both are city-organized, which is why the city's own events pages are the place to check before anyone else's.

The Dates, With the Soft Ones Marked

Some entries below are firm, published by the city or the district. Others are announced without a confirmed date, and those are labeled as such.

Date What Where Status
Saturdays, per the 2026 schedule Keller Farmers Market Bear Creek Park, 400 Bear Creek Pkwy Check the market's site for the final Saturday
Oct 3, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Fall Craft Show and Market Keller Senior Activities Center, 640 Johnson Rd, Building C Confirmed, free
Oct 3 Community Storehouse Run in the Dark Keller Town Hall Confirmed
Oct 5 to Nov 19 Town Hall art show Keller Town Hall Confirmed
Oct 12 to 16 Keller ISD Fall Break District campuses closed Confirmed, classes resume Oct 19
Oct 15, 6:30 p.m. Artist reception Keller Town Hall Confirmed
Oct 20 Luna Loco expands to a full menu Main Street, Old Town Announced by the restaurant
Fall, date to confirm Haunted Camp Out Bear Creek Park Call Parks and Recreation at 817-743-4050
Fall, date to come Flannel Fest Not yet announced City lists details as coming
First Friday in December Holly Days with The Very Merry Light Parade Keller City-listed, so this falls on December 4

Two entries in that table have no firm date, and both belong to the city. If a plan depends on Haunted Camp Out or Flannel Fest, a call to Parks and Recreation settles it faster than any calendar aggregator.

Old Town Is Building on a Longer Timeline

The restaurant side is moving at a different speed. Luna Loco, a Mexican restaurant on Main Street in Old Town Keller, soft-opened on August 21 and announced itself officially open on August 27. Restaurateurs Cary Moon and Greg Polson built the 2,100-square-foot space new, and Community Impact reported in mid-September that the restaurant will expand to a full menu on October 20. The menu already runs to tostadas, enchiladas, street tacos and burritos, and Taco Tuesday specials cover tacos and margaritas. October 20 is a Tuesday, the day after classes resume from Fall Break.

Moon also said the additional tenant at the address is Southern Soul & Co., a boutique that sells clothing, turquoise jewelry, accessories and gifts. So the newest address on Main Street pairs a meal with a shopping stop.

The larger addition is still ahead. Hops Kitchen + Bar, an upscale steakhouse at 200 Keller Parkway, comes from Donny Wu and Tommy Zheng, who opened Hush Sushi + Bar in Keller in 2022. CultureMap reported in late June that the owners planned to break ground in August and open in summer 2027, with a menu of premium steaks, fresh seafood and traditional Chinese cuisine under the label "East China meets steakhouse." That is a plan announced by the owners, not a restaurant with a date on the door, and the reporting does not say construction has finished.

CultureMap also described the surrounding corridor as getting infrastructure and streetscape upgrades meant to create a pedestrian-friendly business district, with on-street parking, pedestrian amenities and upgraded utilities. The coverage gives no completion date for that work. So the fall 2026 picture of Old Town is one restaurant reaching its full menu and one anchor steakhouse due next summer, on a street still being rebuilt.

Fall Break Week and the Restaurants That Already Have Doors Open

Keller ISD campuses and administrative offices close October 12 through 16, with classes resuming Monday, October 19, when the first nine-week grading period ends. A week without school is a week to plan around places that are already running.

Two openings from earlier this year are useful for that. Acquario Pizza Pasta Bar opened March 2 at 967 Keller Parkway, from Elda and Nino Rata, who also run the dinner-only Acquario Italian Restaurant. The Dallas Morning News described the newer Acquario as more casual and better suited to families, open for lunch and dinner six days a week and closed Mondays. That closing day matters here, because Fall Break begins on a Monday. October 12 is a lunch that needs a different address.

Burger Vault opened at 841 N. Tarrant Parkway, Suite 101, at the northeast corner of Rufe Snow Drive, as the first Texas location of a small chain from Florida. CultureMap reported it serves halal beef burgers, fries, bowls and shakes, with beef bacon and no pork. Founder Adam Yassen opened his first Burger Vault in Tampa in 2025.

Neither depends on the city's calendar or on Old Town's construction schedule. That makes them the fixed points in a week that has no published event dates attached to it in the research.

The Weeks After

Once school is back, the next dates to watch belong to the city. Haunted Camp Out and Flannel Fest are both on the Parks and Recreation list without confirmed dates, and Luna Loco's full menu arrives October 20. The city's next fixed date is Holly Days on the first Friday of December, which includes The Very Merry Light Parade, pictures with Santa and a Christmas tree lighting.

The city is also running its December Holiday Yard Decorating Contest. The 2026 theme is "A Few of My Favorite Things," open to houses, streets, subdivisions and businesses inside the city limits. Anyone can view the entries and vote for favorites online, so judging the contest can happen from the couch or from a slow drive down a neighbor's street.

If you want help sorting out what this fall's Old Town openings and the street rebuild might mean for a Keller address, Sherri Murphy-Bort and The Ultimate Real Estate Group are glad to talk it through. Let's Connect.
